Not at this time, sorry!
Absolutely! I wouldn't be able to get all the tiny details into each drawing without a good photo to work with. I will always credit the amazing photographers willing to let me work with their photos.
A Giclée is a superior quality copy or print of an original artwork. The term Giclée — pronounced gee-clay — is used to describe fine art printing using pigment based, archival quality inks, manufactured on advanced inkjet printers which gives more depth and richness to the final print. All of my prints are giclée prints.
Original art is the actual drawing itself. Prints are reproductions of the original artwork. Open edition prints are not signed or numbered and will sell indefinitely with no limit on the number of prints sold. Limited edition prints will be hand-signed, numbered, and only sold in limited quantities.
As of now, I only offer open edition prints.
Right now, most of the originals are already in private collections. I will announce originals for sale as they become available. If you have specific inquires about an original drawing or want to sign up for email notifications, click here. Please note: I'm not doing commissions at this time.
No, sorry! I do offer two sizes for most of my drawings. The largest option is the size of the original drawing. I won't go larger than that for a print.
I work with a variety of charcoal and carbon pencils, and occasionally graphite, made by General Pencil Company. My paper of choice is white Strathmore 400 Series Recycled Drawing Paper, though I love to experiment with different papers for different results. The white you see in the drawings is the white of the paper unless otherwise noted (99% of my drawings are made with black charcoal and black carbon pencils exclusively), and the rich black backgrounds are made by multiple layers of charcoal and carbon. Add in a good eraser and some blending stumps and I'm good to go.
Hyperrealism is a genre of art resembling a high-resolution photo. Hyperrealism is considered an advancement of photorealism in that the artwork isn't an exact copy of a photo, but allows for artistic influence while maintaining the photo-like quality. The term is primarily applied to an independent art movement and art style in the United States and Europe that has developed since the early 1970s.
Not at this time. I do share some of my process on Instagram and Facebook though. But if you want to learn from the best, check out J.D. Hillberry. He changed the way I view and approach drawing. If you get a chance to meet him, or better yet learn from him, don't miss the opportunity.
